Tolerance : A magical tool to healthy Relationships

Man is gregarious by nature. He cannot survive in isolation. He needs people around to talk ,share,love and even compete! Life seems meaningless without such an affair. Seclusion is an abuse,isn't it? No matter it is a relationship or work-life,the people around us are divergent in their ways and many a times not of our choice. But,we have to keep going as the culture demands and their comes a point when hostility, differences and collisions start making their way and life struggles for a breathing space! 

Is diversity actually a curse? No, It isn't. If their were no differences in natures,behavior,backgrounds and even cultures of different people their would have been monotony around where every one  would think like the other and no fresh infusions occur.Imagine  a rainbow with a single shade! Life seems meaningless.


But,are we mature enough to Accept people as they are ?Do we respect their differences? Are we ready to tolerate their diversities to generate peace and love around? To make them feel wanted ,valued and loved. A sense of tolerance needs to be nurtured ,supported and instilled in a society as a common culture where work places are getting infused with people all around the world and societies turning into global vintages.

Tolerance means an ability or willingness to be patient and  understanding to the differences that exist around and to Accept them with a spirit of  empathy and fortitude. It further kills one's selfishness without harming self esteem.
No matter what we are talking about personal or professional life, tolerance plays an active role to make smooth relationships and world a better place to live in. To develop or have tolerance does not mean that differences do not occur.It is next to impossible but it simply means that we to value our relationships more  than diversities and carry a strength to hear and sort them  out in a healthy spirit.

Tolerance meter is the capacity to measure tolerance and has been put in two levels
 (a) HIGH  which encourages a high degree of understanding,compatibility and acceptance towards others.This further ensures a long term relationship and a affinity with others in work life.
(b)LOW which makes conflicts ,misunderstandings a common phenomenon. It further leads to aggression,regular heat ups and breakups.

 
Can Tolerance be developed? The answer is Yes. If are to develop two  basic skills tolerance can pave a way to smooth path in relationships where everyone feels valued and loved.these two skills are Empathy and Acceptance.

Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. It is to step into the shoes of the other to feel how the other one is feeling. Empathy helps us to develop a rapport and affinity with the people and to connect with them better. On the contrary, lower level of empathy may contribute to conflict in social interactions.  


 Acceptance  is the assent to any situation or reality that may be conflicting to one's interests or  thoughts without protesting or reacting to it. It is an approval to or attendance to the conflicting situations in a spirit of humility and faith. It is a foundation to long lasting relationships .To accept the values of the other requires an effort but ensures commitment and promises a strong bonding.


Tolerance in work life
After Globalization there has a high degree of inflow and outflow of work forces across Global frontiers  that has made workplaces a hub  of cross  cultures interactions. Tolerance matters a lot today more than it meant before.Tolerance towards different cultures can lead to better work environment.It also helps to understand and respect emotions of coworkers and clients and make companies grow with team spirit and become success stories.People with high tolerance are more adaptable to change in this dynamic work culture.

 

Tolerance in Relationships
A Tolerance in a relationship ensures warmth,understanding,space and comfort zone to express oneself.After  attraction and sex what can make a relationship really going is respect,trust and a high degree tolerance towards each other no matter what may be the conditions or negativeness around. It makes your partner valued and wanted and avoids conflicts and hot words.  

Bottom line---
If we are to develop tolerance, it will make a peaceful co-existence possible  and create an understanding towards each other such that happiness prevails and diversities are welcomed. An open-minded attitude and a loving heart can make it all. Let "live and let live"be our approach to the world around. It promises happiness and peace!
