Enthusiasm makes the Difference

In this age of never-ending competition, where survival of the fittest is the rule, Success doesn't always come to most talented person. A strong ignited force, zeal, positivism and passion to achieve the goal is a must. An action-oriented drive is like a beam of electrons flowing into the bulb. Nothing but, Illumination is the result!

Enthusiasm is that electricity to life. It is the real magic that converts Skills to Accomplishments. Talents to Achievements and Obstacles to real Success stories. It is an action-oriented plan that keeps you ignited till U get what you seek.

Be it Managers at work places or team heads on social grounds people who are charged with an overflowing energy and intense aptitude to achieve earnestly make the difference. Drained souls just make a living no matter how talented. They prove to be mediocre and low achievers.

Enthusiasm is defined as intense excitement, fervour to achieve something. It shows an eagerness, enjoyment, interest or approval towards a goal. It is a mindset that keeps you going in spite of failures till you achieve what you want. Knowledge is definitely the power but, enthusiasm pulls the switch. 

Those who adopt an action-oriented approach to their dreams and are all set with an inclination to achieve them will crave for it and unlock their energies and insights to success. Enthusiasm will make them passionate to their goals. It shall fill them with zest and drive them towards their pursuit with lively interest. After all, enthusiasm is life!

Further, enthusiasm is contagious. An enthusiastic person seems to energize everyone and fill the same fervour and positivism in all. He sets others to fire with his spark and sets them to action. A leader who lacks enthusiasm can never make his team work hard and be high in spirits. It is his energy that flows into each and every team member and lead them to achieve small and long-term goals of the team.

To be Enthusiastic is not a tedious task. What is important that we behave in an Enthusiastic manner. Slowly it becomes our habit and we get filled with the spirit. Interestingly, a care given to diet, exercise and nutrition can also increase our enthusiastic capacity and keep us charged. A little of meditation and Yoga, also, increases the optimism in spite of challenges around and pushes us to higher enthusiastic levels.

 

Example of Enthusiasm

One fine day I had a walk to a construction site. Few casual workers were busy doing some work. I asked them one by one what were they doing. One of them replied, “I am earning a living”, the other said, “I am laying bricks”, the next one replied earnestly, “I am building a Cathedral". This is ENTHUSIASM!

See the spirit, energy and goal-oriented action the man has.

Few other examples of enthusiasm come from a child who is about to go for a creative class or toddlers going to a garden for picnic. More examples come from birthday excitement of teenagers. All of them are full of fervour Can we feel the same excitement at our work? 


ENTHUSIASM IN LEADERSHIP

An active leader is like a radar in the airship that directs the team mates in the right direction and fills them with liveliness. On the contrary, a chief who lacks excitement, energy and vigour is sure to slander and end up in a team that is lethargic, slow and low in vitality. As discussed, earlier enthusiasm is contagious. An zealous chief will make the whole squad work towards the targets while the one who himself is lazy and lacking fervour will surely make others follow the same trend.

 

Blessed is the TEAM where unison exists. It takes leap bounds. This oneness binds everyone together and is a benefaction that comes from the leader. A research says that the psychology of the team mates is affected much by that of the hear. Be it cognitive, affective or emotional domains. The team members tend to imitate their mentors and consider them their "Role Models'.

 

So, a leader should be a energy source and a positive motivation for the team members. If he is able to influence his members and make a difference the team would succeed. A striving or losing team can be pushed to success and negative scores be converted to chart busters. This is the effect of a charged, enthusiastic leader.

 

 


ENTHUSIASM AT WORKPLACE


A Company filled with enthusiasm is sure to make accomplishments and turn business to success stories. A lot of energy is required in managers to make their team productive, goal oriented and client turners. An uncharged head just works for an earning but a charged one to break records. So, to make your team a constellation of achievers a super energized fervour is a must. Go beyond skills, give them what they want to do, appreciate what they have done, celebrate the accomplishments of the team. All this boosts the teammates with positive energy and gives them zest to work earnestly for the organisation.

 

Further, nothing is more infectious than enthusiasm. If you are filled with high spirits carry an excitement to work and committed to results even your team shall follow you. A strong will on the part of managers keeps them going in spite of all negativity around. Develop heart on yourself and others on the team. Encourage it by appreciation till it becomes the part of the team.

 

HOW TO DEVELOP ENTHUSIASM

Be Passionate about your work -When you as a head get passionate your team is sure to follow. They will be charged by the zeal you carry! If you expect an outstanding effort on their part demonstrate it yourself,
Show enthusiastic behaviour till it becomes a part of your nature--Sometimes the leaders are not that zealous. In such a condition they should depict such behaviour deliberately. Slowly, it becomes a part of one's nature.
Encourage high spirits-A behaviour encouraged gets reinforced .So, a leader should encourage high spirits whenever depicted by team Mates and slowly see others playing the same tune.
Be Sporty- Be playful ,encourage sporty behaviour you are not enthusiastic your team is sure to slide down with you. 
Give pleasant surprises-Take your team out for picnics or a movie, give them gifts, incentives and more pleasant surprises. Make them feel that you are a part
Celebrate achievements- Make your team feel great at small or big achievements. Celebrate them. In this way the morale of your team will be boosted and they shall work loyally for the organisation.
Be a pal- A dogmatic boss shall never attract the wilful sacrifices of the teammates. On the other hand if you are an empathetic one you shall soon become a role model. They are to follow your ways willingly.
Encourage participation - A team where words find space feels connected and tends to work enthusiastically towards the goals set by the leader. Encourage them to speak, to promote a whole hearted effort.
