Gratitude

Today I will be talking about something that we don't recognise or think about daily. That particular thought is of Gratitude. We don't often think about how lucky we are in life and hence forget about how grateful we should be.

It's quite simple if we adopt this way of thinking. We all have been blessed with a roof over our heads, food to eat, and clothes to wear. It's essential to reflect upon the thought that not everyone has been blessed with these basic requisites. Therefore we are among the lucky ones.

Other than this we don't realise that we have been blessed with a perfect healthy body with hands to work with, mind to think with and our will to help others with these. Not everyone is blessed even with these features but we don't think about it. It is human tendency as we have seen earlier to compare with someone above him just to crib about his life.

On the other hand, we never thank God for these blessings endowed on us, but rather crib for what we do not have.

Therefore, it is equally important that we repetitively and regularly thank God for this and show our gratitude towards him for this.

As it is, we keep complaining about our bad luck, but isn't it pure good luck that we are healthy, can work on our own and don't have any form of shortcomings...either physical or mental?

The only way to show our gratitude is through prayer and hence we need to thank God for his generosity. The idea is that next time you blame your luck, remind yourself that you are so lucky in so many beautiful ways.....all it takes is a moment of praise.
