A walk

A walk

There is a path that you silently walk down
Looking out for stones, thorns and puddles
You don’t want to spoil your fancy gown
Often you are met with unfriendly hurdles;
Those you walk past.
There are lights and shadows as you walk
The light sends comfort after a brutal crash
Around you, several ghosts and faces that mock
Those shadows send a shiver down your flesh;
Whom you walk through.
You descend down the mountains and hills
Quicker than you painfully ascend them
Saving your precious self from all perils
You look around for that special gem;
That you walk toward.
The journey seems endless as you go on
Your fancy gown has a few unnoticed tears
The scars after a brutal crash are forgotten
The word of your unwanted descend spreads;
And you silently walk down that path.
