A STORY OF TWINS 

       It was afternoon time. The closing bell of Abhinav Vidyalaya rang. A swarm of buzzing children emerged out of all classes. Arnav and Pranav, twin brothers, learning in fifth class came out of the class with hand in hand. They were living in Suyog colony which was near to their school. On their way to home at the corner of the colony they saw an old man walking very slowly. The old man was carrying a bag which was quite heavy due to which he was walking very slowly. Two brothers noticed this thing. Arnav said," Pranav, let's help that old man." Pranav nodded and both ran in his direction. Arnav said," Grandpa, please give your bag to us. We will hold it." Grandpa looked at both of them through his spectacle and said," Thank you boys. Both of you already have heavy school bags on your back. How will you hold this heavy bag? I live nearby. I will go slowly." Pranav said," Grandpa, don't worry." By saying this both took his bag. Grandpa felt very happy by the twins ' gesture.

        While walking Arnav asked," Grandpa, are you new in this colony? I haven't seen you before." Grandpa smiled and said," Good guess. I came to live in this colony last month." He asked further," Are you twins?" Both smiled and nodded. Pranav said," We are studying in fifth class of Abhinav Vidyalaya." Grandpa said," Very good." Just then they reached near the building where Grandpa was living. Grandpa said," Thank you boys. I live in this building on the second floor." Grandpa took his bag from them and said again," Well boys, now go slowly. Come to my place on your holiday." Both nodded. Arnav asked," Grandpa, Your good name please?" Grandpa replied," Myself is Ranjan Sharma." Both waved goodbye to him and went home.

          In the evening when both parents came back from the office, twins told them about Grandpa they met while returning from the school. Both parents praised their words for helping Grandpa. Two-three days later on Sunday morning after breakfast both brothers remembered Grandpa. Pranav said," Arnav, today is Sunday. Let us go to Grandpa's place to meet him." With the permission of the parents both of them went out to meet Grandpa. Both arrived at the building where Grandpa was living. They went to the second floor and rang the bell of his house. Grandma opened the door and was surprised to see the twins. Both asked her about Grandpa. She called Grandpa. When Grandpa saw twins standing at the door, he happily welcomed  them. Looking at Grandma, Grandpa said," These are twins  who helped me two days before." Grandma smiled and remarked," Cute boys." Both started talking with Grandpa. During their conversation, Grandpa asked," Are you both appearing for the scholarship exam this year?" Both were surprised and asked him," How do you know about this exam?" Grandpa replied," I am a retired teacher of science and mathematics. I have guided many students, especially for mathematics, for this exam." Hearing this both were very happy. Just then Grandma served orange juice to all.

       While drinking juice, both asked," Grandpa, will you guide us especially for mathematics for this exam?" Grandpa smiled and said," Yes, of course boys. I will definitely guide both of you." Hearing this both were pleased. Grandpa called both of them at 4 O'clock with a mathematics book and writing pad. Both went home and told their parents what happened at Grandpa's place. Mom said, " Well boys, I will accompany you while going to Grandpa's place again." Both nodded happily. At 4 O'clock both again went to Grandpa's place with their mom. Mom introduced herself with Grandpa and Grandma. She handed over a fruit basket to Grandma. After some time she went home and Grandpa started coaching twins. He gave emphasis on explaining the basic concepts in mathematics. Both brothers liked his method of teaching very much. Both were totally engrossed in learning interesting facts in mathematics. Grandpa told both of them to remember tables from 2 to 30. Both brothers were learning by heart.

      Every Sunday both brothers would go to receive coaching from Grandpa. Grandpa taught them how to solve the given questions in less time. Both of them became experts in solving the problems in a short time with accuracy. Grandpa was very happy with their progress. A bond of affection was developed between two families. Both brothers were well prepared for the scholarship examination. On the day of the exam both brothers went to Grandpa's place to receive his blessings and appeared for the exam. Since both of them were very well prepared for the exam they solved all the question papers with ease. Meanwhile their annual examination for fifth standard was over and they secured distinction.

            After summer vacation, when the school reopened, the result of the scholarship examination was declared. Arnav and Pranav stood first and second in Pune district. Both were secured out of marks in mathematics. All school teachers and students were congratulating both of them for their grand success. Their parents' joy knew no bounds when they came to know about the success of their words. Arnav and Pranav were very eager to tell Grandpa about their achievement in this examination. So they rushed in a hurry to Grandpa's place. When Grandpa learnt about their achievement his heart started dancing with joy. He patted both of them on their backs and hugged them. His eyes were mist and he experienced the moment of happiness.
