What is love? Have you ever experienced it?

Who can claim to see the true love, something which touches the core of your heart. Something which changes the whole direction of your life.

How can you find it? I would rather say that if it was as painful as it was for Sara and as difficult as it was for Derek then I am much better without love.

Who are these two people who experienced love but could not be happy at the end of it.

Sara remembered her eighteenth Valentine's day, when she was with her friends and was bit nervous about the whole fuss of getting a rose from someone or to be asked for a dance by a special friend.

She was carrying not much money as she could not afford to dine at such a fine place. She was saving money for her cab ride to go back to her place. All her friends were rich and pompous, who were wearing beautiful dresses and were talking loudly as well as laughing without any particular reason. Sara was getting impatient as all her friends were dancing with their partners except her.

She looked at her plain blue coloured gown which was gifted to her by her kind neighbour Mrs. Dina on her last birthday. She was feeling very shy as she was trying to look confident in her navy blue dress as she was getting more and more impatient and felt like an outsider amidst this noisy social circus.

As she was about to rise from her chair, a hand came in front of her and she heard a voice saying, "May I have the honour of dancing with the most beautiful girl in the whole world?"

Sara sat on her chair and without thinking much, simply told him, "Then you should ask Miss. Universe, you are knocking at the wrong door, Mr..."

"Derek, my name is Derek, may I ask your name Miss...?"

Derek, a young twenty one year old man asked her.

Sara looked at him, he was wearing a navy blue suit, which was looking old and oversized for him. Maybe it was his brother's or father's suit, which he was wearing today. He was wearing an expensive watch, which he was trying to hide by keeping his hand in his pocket. He was wearing glasses which were too big for his face. He was looking more like a boy than a confident young man.

Sara wanted to leave the cafeteria as she was worried for her interview at the publishing house next day. There was something interesting about Derek which made her accept his request for dance before heading back to her place.

As she danced with him, he looked into her eyes and said, "Will you meet me again next year and be my Valentine?"
