A Real Hero

Once upon a time, there lived a frog in a pond. His name was “Jumpy”, because he never sat quietly. The other animals living around his habitat, used to make fun of him. Jumpy never liked it, so, one day he decided to go in nearby village. But there also villagers started making fun of him, except his human friend “Meera”. She always plays with him and does lot of fun.

One day, Meera was looking for Jumpy, since morning, but he was not found anywhere of the places. They used to meet at river at 7.30 am, but he didn’t come there till noon. She was very scared and worried for her little Jumpy. She thought someone might had kidnapped him and suddenly she realized that Ramu kaka (Sarpanch and the richest person of the village) might be a kidnapper, as he needs lots of animals for his business. So she went to Ramu kaka’s home, from the window, she saw Ramu kaka and Jumpy playing inside the house. Finding Jumpy safe, she feels glad and relaxed. But suddenly, something happened for which she was scared of. Ramu kaka went in kitchen and brought a knife, salt and sugar. He was going to kill that small and speechless animal. Meera shouted and screamed like an angry lion. At that time Kaka saw her and realized that she had watched everything, he was ashamed of himself.

She asked him, “Why do you kill these speechless animals? Are they your enemies?” Kaka said, “No, they aren’t. But you are!” She asked him, “Then, why do you kill them and not me?” Kaka replied, “Because, you are an animal lover.” Ramu kaka’s wife Sanjana kaki came from outside that time and heard all these. Kaki asked to Kaka, “Why is she your enemy? She is such a cute and caring girl and everyone loves her a lot. She is kind by nature and helpful too.”  Ramu kaka said, “Because of his father! He has killed my father for money.” Listening all these, Meera started crying. Kaki told her not to cry and soothe her by pampering her back. Then kaki told to kaka, “Her father is your enemy, not she!” on this Ramu kaka replied that her father wanted her to study in nearby famous school in the city and for that he needed money. And you know in our village, we don’t promote girl education too much. So, my father denied to lend the money. Hence, her father killed him. Meera was too much crying listening all these. She said that I am really sorry Kaka, I will return all the money.

But kaka said, “Its ok, if you enjoy your study and learn good things, you should. You should also motivate other girls. I will give money for all girls who needs for education.”

Thenafter, all the girls of the village started getting good education. We salute a girl like Meera who is a real hero.
