Sharmila : queen of awards

Sharmila Tagore is famous actress in hindi film industry. She is also known as Begum Ayesha Sultana.  She is born on December 8, 1944, in Hyderabad, India. Her family was related to Nobel Prize for Literature.  winner was Rabindranath Tagore. Sharmila converted to Islam to marry Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, a captain of the Indian cricket team. They had three children. actor Saif Ali Khan, Saba Ali Khan, a jewelry designer, and actress Soha Ali Khan. She began her career in her early age with Satyajit Ray’s film, ‘Apur Sansar’ (The World of Apu) (1959). The Bengali film won the National Film Award for Best Feature.  In ‘An Evening in Paris’ (1967), Sharmila caused a stir when she became the first Indian actress to appear in a bikini. She won a National Film Award for Best Actress for ‘Mausam’ (1970) and for Best Supporting Actress in ‘Abar Aranye’ (2003). She often worked with Rajesh Khanna. gether they had seven hit movies: ‘Aradhana’ (1969), ‘Safar’ (1970), ‘Amar Prem’ (1972), ‘Chhoti Bahu’ (1971), ‘Daag’ (1973), ‘Raja Rani’ (1973), and ‘Avishkaar’ (1974). Sharmila also worked with Dharmendra and Amitabh Bachchan.  When I was in college I saw many pictures of her. After she was seen in ‘Break Ke Baad’ in 2010, Sharmila took a break from films. She returned in 2023, in the film ‘Gulmohar’, for which Sharmila won the 2023 Filmfare OTT Award for Best Actress in a Film: Critics. She has been honored with several Lifetime Achievement Awards including the 43rd Filmfare Award in 1998. In 2013, Sharmilla received the Padma Bhushan from the government of India. I like her acting too much.
