This collection of poems arises from the difficult times we are experiencing as spectators of a transition period towards new and unfathomable horizons of history. My verses aim to denounce a new wave of growing socio-political-cultural barbarity.
Considering the brutality of what is happening both in the family microcosm and in the social macrocosm due to the numerous outbreaks of war, especially in Ukraine and Gaza (Palestine), I felt the need to raise my humble voice along with that of the poet, Dr. Jyotirmaya Thakur, who honored me by hosting me in this anthology.
The heinous murders, especially against defenseless women and children, the massacres on the doorstep of the West and in the heart of Europe, and the exterminations due to religious intolerance or the thirst for money and power, tend in various ways to make us retreat into positions of subordination towards a kind of "Dark Technological Century" despite the advent of Artificial Intelligence.
But hope for the future of humanity is always alive in me like the eternal fire of the Vestals of ancient Rome. @Franca Colozzo
