'In the Jungles of Kokonino' is an adventure science fiction focused on botany. Samyantak Sengupta, an Indian scientist who hails from Baltimore engages in a laboratory in Greenland, founded and run by Smithsonian Research Institute. His objective is to research how and which cereals, fruits and vegetable products can possibly be derived from icy polar region. High proliferation of greenhouse effect has reduced the ozone layer. The polar ice has gradually melted and sea-level rising has caused a reduction of land area. Hence, scientists want to channelize harvest is an attempt to combat the problem. Samyantak comes to know about Paul Harridas, who has evolved a system which would redress the food problem globally. Samyantak finds Paul’s laboratory and Paul shows scientists his discovery, a number of green complexioned men and a host of animals. Paul informs the scientists that they were the prime evidence of his prolonged research work. Paul has been able to produce chlorophyll in their bodies like that of plants. Those green men and animals are now in the habit of taking water mixed with minerals and producing their own food in their system with the help of carbon dioxide and the sun.
